What if they remembered and one of them forgot? How do they get back those memories and/or share what they had? How do they each deal with being the only one to know? What happens when magic gets involved? A series of very AU stories involving some form of Mosaic amnesia, exploring how things might have played out differently. Each story is completely separate, yet each explores some aspect of this Mosaic amnesia theme.

Passing through the doorway was easy, once he’d decided to do it.
Confessing that he might have, probably, (definitely) killed himself- now that was hard. Walking away from the campfire, from his grieving friends, with Eliot’s voice lingering in his ears, THAT was hard. Even saying goodbye to Penny, strange as it seemed, took more willpower than he’s thought it would. But the actual doorway… nothing barred his path, no new threat jumped out at the last minute. It was just one foot in front of the other and then-
And then light.
Q post dying-in-the-seam walks through the doorway into the afterlife and comes out in the Physical Kids Cottage, several years in the past.
Or: immediately after visiting Plover’s estate, Quentin, Alice, Eliot, and Penny get a surprise from the future.

Quentin Coldwater is trying to figure out what he wants from life. Everyone around him seems to be stepping off into adulthood with career success and personal accomplishments; his childhood best friend is even getting married. And then there’s the Eliot of it all— Eliot Waugh, Quentin’s friend, confidant, found family member... who he’s been sleeping with for the better part of a year. Eliot’s the only person in Quentin’s life not trying to push him in one direction or the other, but it may turn out that Eliot’s the person he wants to build his future around after all.

The voice is familiar, but he can’t quite place it. Even when he spots the face it goes with — dark eyebrows sloping elegantly upward in surprise, mouth half-curled to reveal one pleased dimple, eyes sparkling sweet and smart — it takes him a minute before the pieces of his past rearrange themselves into something like recognition. “Quentin Coldwater?”
(Or: Eliot runs into his high school sweetheart. Turns out they still get along.)
