Summary
No one knows he used to be a model for Halloween Costumes.
He’s honestly surprised no one knows yet.
It’s not something he wants to share with his family. He’s not ashamed or embarrassed, but he knows for a fact that they would go out looking for him in every store, and he would never hear the end of it.And yet, every year from September to November, people on calls ask him if they know him. Every year, without fault. And none of his team realized it. He knows it’s only a matter of time, he just doesn’t know who will say something first, or when.
He should’ve expected that it would come from one Christopher Diaz, honestly.

Buck seems happy today.
Really happy.
And anyone that isn’t Eddie loves seeing him like this; but he knows Buck like he knows the back of his hand– he knows that this type of high usually comes with a low. As it so happens, Eddie knows exactly why Buck seems so happy, and why Buck's inevitably going to crash: The Buckley Parents are currently in the state of California. Maddie told Buck yesterday, announced that they’re going to have dinner, all of them– Buck went straight to Eddie’s after that. So. Yeah. Buck seems overjoyed, but Eddie knows that Buck is actively doing everything he can to not think about his parents, to not have one quiet moment alone in his brain.
Everything meaning everything.
Cleaning, hanging out with Chris, watching documentaries, and falling into research pits about the Gros Michel Banana and their impact on the banana flavour.
Or: The Buckley parents are in town and the family secret is about to be spilled. Buck's mental health is impacted more than he lets on and the 118 are there to support him through an ADHD diagnosis he wasn't planning on getting.

“Ready to go?”
“I’ve been ready for a solid ten minutes, Buck. Yes, I’m ready. Let’s get to Costco before there’s too many people.”
Buck snorts, “Baby. It’s the middle of the week, this is the perfect time to go to Costco; it’s gonna be hella empty.” He opens the door and Eddie exits the house with a sigh.
“Famous last words, Buckley.”
“It’s 3pm on a Wednesday! I–” Eddie shows no sign of waiting so Buck takes it upon himself to lock up the house before heading over to the Jeep’s driver side, sliding in behind the wheel. “Who’s gonna be there on a Wednesday afternoon?”
“You never know, Buck. You never know.”
Or: Buck gets a surprise birthday at Costco

Summary
It’s a well known fact that Buck is a good guy. Everyone knows that. Hell: the LAFD as a whole probably knows how good of a guy Buck is. He did save a dozen people during the tsunami while he was off duty while he was recovering and on blood thinners. A feat that the 118 hadn’t been aware of until one year after the tsunami, when one of the victims spoke up and named him as Firefighter Buck. The LAFD had recognized him for his bravery and Buck? He’d brushed it off like it was nothing.
So yeah, Buck’s a good guy. A great guy. But does he know how great he is? You would tell him and he would probably brush it off and tell you he’s just as good as everyone else.
The 118 know this, of course they do, but it all starts to come into clarity for them on a
stormy day when Buck shows up to work looking like a wet dog and one by one, they notice the little things that Buck does for them.Or: a 7+1 where the 118 realize just how GOOD Buck is. Comfort, no hurt.

It started with the silly idea of Buck being obsessed with Costco and it turned into me maybe writing buddie at costco at different points in their lives
Excluding the zombie apocalypse. That won’t happen, Lacey.

Summary
There are a few spam e-mails at the top, and he feels a familiar spike of annoyance at the sight - he never signed up to receive these stupid advertisement emails, why does he have to be the one to go through and unsubscribe to all of them? It’s stupid, that’s all he’s saying - as well as a few texts from the 118-group chat, somebody trying to get a day off, but at the bottom, there’s a text that came in 23 minutes ago that makes his stomach fall to his ass and static buzz in his ears.
Christopher: Missed Call
Christopher: Dad, I thjnk somethngs wrng
Christopher: Dad pleas
He knows his son is hardly one to take the time to spell everything out when he could use simple acronyms, but this isn’t that. These are misspellings, and the lack of emojis - from the kid who once spoke to him solely in the little suckers while he was on shift one day - has him immediately pulling up his son’s contact information and hitting dial, chewing on his inner cheek as he waits for the call to connect.
Or: As Eddie is debating his move to Texas, a few texts from his son in the middle of the day set him on a course to getting everything he's been wanting.
