After his careless words ruined Penelope's prospects on the marriage mart, Colin is determined to do everything he can to restore her reputation and to find her a good match, even if it means pretending to court his best friend.

Summary
It is the Winter of 1914 and England is suffering under unprecedented cold conditions. Not to be deterred by this the Mamas Featherington and Bridgerton correspond to put an early end to the feud between their daughters.
This isn’t meant to be how it happens? Penelope isn’t meant to see the Bridgertons until next season! What will happen if she is forced to meet them at their country home? Eloise certainly won’t be pleased. At least Colin won’t be there…
Or, the one where we can see just how quickly Colin forgets that he is a gentleman if forced to be alone with Penelope in a remote location for more than fifteen minutes.

“No, it is not, Brother,” Colin answered, still shocked by his sudden betrothal, but realising he did not regret it, “Penelope is my best friend. And like mother used to say “you must simply marry the one who feels like your dearest friend”. If I understood her correctly, friendship is the best possible foundation a marriage can have and I for one am glad I will at least have the best possible start for my marriage to Penelope.”
But will best friends ever turn into lovers.
