Hong didn't like to cry or play hide and seek, he didn't like to starve, and he didn't like to see his sister getting thinner and thinner, but he couldn't do anything.
On didn't want her little brother to have to go through all this, she didn't want the only food available to be poisonous, she didn't want to have to hide every time those traitors decided to "play" with them, she wanted to be able to be free with his brother.

Cale Henituse was not a person who would call her to a private meeting without a reason. Even though he was her son, she knew she failed with him a lot when he was young, but even if he wasn't going to be her blood son, she considered him a son in her heart. And even though if he couldn't consider her a mother, she thought she give him some space, but it only pushed him away.
That's why she was anxious when the redhead asked her for a private meeting. She thought it might be something related to the territory, or the war. And she was already prepared to give him all the support he needed in his battles.
Imagine her surprise when the subject that slipped from Cale's lips was nothing to do with war or official affairs. She have to ask one more time to make sure she heard him correctly.
- Excuse-me?
Hearing the question, the redhead repeated what he had said before.

Sikh. Stephanie pronounces it ‘Seek’. Damian knows that Sikhs occasionally wear turbans, but he’s never properly spoken with one before, or inquired about their beliefs and customs. He knows his grandfather was a convert, several hundred years ago. The man has since denounced all religions.
“But why kill her because she’s Sikh?”
“Because—racism?” Stephanie says. “Like, it might be a hate crime.”
Damian opens his mouth, then pauses. He tries to grasp this. “Ah.”

Nightwing, who had been idly tinkering with what looked like a new version of his escrima sticks, raised an eyebrow at Hal. “I should hope I know who Batman is. He is one of the founding members of the League. And my father. Are you feeling okay, Hal?”

Or, a lot of people asked for an identity reveal sequel to my Batfam meets the Justice League fic, so here it is. Plenty of sheneanigans and a touch of birdflash thrown in for more sheneanigans and my own amusment (and Barry's anguish).

It would be nice, Tim thinks, to have someone in his life who actually wants him. Someone who won’t leave every chance they get. Someone who enjoys his presence instead of merely tolerating it. Someone for whom he isn’t an obligation.
