right off the bat i am hooked IN, the prose and word choices are so befitting for Tom and i love how the author describes the accents bc godforbid i have an idea on how a Pureblood drawl is different from a posh one 🙏🙏🙏
the prose is to eloquent but manages to present itself as natural, nothing in it seems stilted or awkward, it all feels like how someone like Riddle or the Slytherin Purebloods would talk and i LOVE THAT
It's hilarious how much like children these people are, and then I remember that they ARE teenagers: "There were few things that Tom's housemates appeared to enjoy more than new audiences to boat to and preen at. It was really no wonder how popular Sluggy's parties were."

This particular transfer student was in his year, sorted into Ravenclaw after an impressively long hat stall. He looked like he might be descended from the Potter line, but he did not share the surname so his lineage was of no particular interest to Tom. Nothing about him was of particular interest to Tom, in fact, and yet here he stood, holding the book that Tom had come here to find.
It would be a good time to turn away. The Restricted Section was restricted for a reason—only books documenting extremely dangerous or extremely advanced magic were stored here.
Tom’s feet, however, suddenly felt as if they were made of lead. It wasn’t magic keeping him tied down, but something far more mysterious like curiosity or even fate. In any case, the delay was all it took for the Ravenclaw to lift his chin and meet Tom’s eyes.
This Ravenclaw, Tom realized, had eyes as blindingly green as the Killing Curse.

Miraculously, Jack Potter defeated the Dark Lord, weathering the encounter with nothing to show for it but a pale scar. Lily and James also survived their grievous injuries but Jack's twin brother, Harry, was not so lucky; he was the only Potter to lose his life.
The death of their son was devastating enough...but hours later, his body was stolen from the morgue at St Mungo's. No one knows what happened or why his corpse was taken.
Ten years later, Albus Dumbledore descends upon the Potter manor with a Hogwarts acceptance letter in his hand. The address reads:

Lily is a hippie, Sansa/Violet is a commie, Petunia is the ringmaster of the circus that is her family, Severus gets yoinked by the Evans', and the Evans parents are trying their bestest
Lily gives her principal migraines with her many shenanigans and i see this is foreshadowing to her years in Hogwarts
Violet's just rolling with it and having a swell time with her new family
