007n7 kicked the door shut behind him and dropped his bag onto the floor with a thud. Immediately, his hand darted beneath his shirt and pulled out the book he’d been hiding all day.
The cover gleamed dully in the low lamplight, plain black but somehow heavier than its size should allow. Noli. That single name caught his eye all over again, written in lettering so faint it seemed to waver if you stared too long.
007n7 snorted, tossing himself down into his desk chair and kicking his legs up onto the bed. “Alright, Noli..” He muttered, flipping the book open with one hand. “Let’s see what you’re about.”
The first pages were exactly what he expected– archaic writing, passages about emptiness, eternity, stars collapsing into nothing, and how only His Voidly Eminence could grant peace.
007n7 leaned back, smirking. “Yep. Cult crap.” He read one section aloud in a mocking voice. “‘His embrace is the nothingness beyond the nothing.’ Oh my god, who writes this? Sounds like every edgy kid’s journal on the forums.”
