It was…strange, to say the least, to see the wolf again. However, the way they held themselves this time was different. This time, their eyes were much clearer—their build much darker, even more so than the familiar gray wolf Link once remembered.
His teeth were sharper, too.
That much was apparent once Link went to hug the wolf openly, aiming for a friendly embrace. But instead of the warm welcome that Link had grown to expect, sharp teeth bared deep into his airway, a growl vibrating lowly into his vulnerable jugular.

Despite Warriors’ unwarrantedly bold and charismatic presence, Champion didn’t even so much as bother to look up at him, picking up his medium glass of rum to stare hard into its flickering copper contents. His drink mirrored sweet caramel in the dim candlelight, yet its taste burned in his gut with a familiar ancient heat.
“Oh, I don’t know…probably someone who’d put me out of my misery,” Champion replied bluntly, a hand to his cheek as he took a minuscule sip from his drink.
Ah, so it was one of those nights.

There was a time when Boruto could’ve complained that his father would’ve never had the time for him. He could have complained, once upon a time, that his father were too busy as the Hokage—as the “Sun” of the village; a beacon of hope.
But with that hope now lost, and with only the “Moon” by his side, Boruto could say that, for once in his life, he would have never complained now.
Especially not with the pain in his teacher’s gaze as he looked upon him, almost as if he were seeing someone else.
