So, it didn’t start out like this.
Alfred would scoff at the statement, about how Bruce was trying to justify the whole situation to himself. It had started out as a simple design, black everything with black outlines and black hood. It got a little more intense as the world went on, got wind of his ghost on the streets, and became scared of The Bat . So Bruce got a little more creative with it, Alfred and him had a good laugh over the name, the scare, and Alfred had a vicious streak of humor that he had passed onto his ward-
So now the suit had a visible bat-theme, an insignia to drape in the shadows and to paint across the streets of Gotham.
It only took a year into the whole charade of heroism for Bruce to overhear a conversation between some goons- some low level thug hired by the Riddler this week- about nothing at all pertaining to what the hell the Riddler was doing in the sewers but instead:
“ The Batman can fly, you know, I’ve seen his wings.”

Tommy leaves The Dream Team the same way he left Sam’s workshop and the same way he left his mom. With love and promises to call, and the knowledge that they can’t come to help. They’re too important to the war effort. But he has the contacts of a hundred Human criminals memorized forwards and backward. He’ll be okay.
Probably.
In the end, it's frighteningly easy to sneak aboard The Angel of Death. It probably wouldn’t be if Tommy didn’t have the teachers and family he does, so he’ll give them a pass this time. Once he’s integrated, though, he’s going to give their security a massive overhaul because he is a little insulted at how effortlessly he got in.

One day, Tommy’s convinced he'll stumble upon some sort of oasis of a promised land. Techno doesn’t know, exactly, why he keeps coming out here to try to prove the existence of something he knows he’ll never find; his eyes sting, and the occasional tirades of tiny whirlwinds threaten to uproot his own balance along with the rest of the shit in the air, and he’s pretty sure it takes a few years off the lifespan of his mods each time he puts them to the test, but still, here he is. Eyes fixed on the wastes before him, the very air scorched, the earth stripped bare. The colour green is a myth, everyone knows that - but Tommy has his heart set on seeing it. Just once.
In a world defined by its pollution, Techno searches for Paradise. This time, they just might make it.
