Summary
After being released from a court ordered hospitalisation, Barkovitch is forced to seek out employment. Desperate, he takes up a job at the office as a janitor. He finds himself shamelessly attracted to one of its head employees.
A wimpy janitor trying to coexist with an executive—what a joke. He whimpered, giving way to his thoughts. A stain is what you are, a goddamn stain. Maybe it had become an internalised response to all the years worth of brutality others had put him through. Or maybe it was an acknowledgement of admitting this was all he’d ever be. Acknowledgement was easier than having to take responsibility. Acknowledgement meant staying exactly where you were.
