"It was the first time in my life I felt utterly lost and confused, like a ship adrift in a storm with no compass to guide me. I had no one to turn to, no one to confide in about this bizarre twist of fate. My average IQ wasn’t up to solving this riddle."

Summary
Sawamura Eijun once dreamed of standing on the mound with Miyuki Kazuya behind the plate but life had other plans. An injury in high school sent him down a different path, one of brushes and color instead of gloves and cleats. Miyuki rose to stardom, becoming a famous pro catcher. Their lives split.
Years later, they meet again. Old feelings resurface. Quietly. Gently.
But Miyuki has someone else now. Narumiya Mei, his pitcher, his partner.
And Eijun? Eijun just wants to bring him there.
To happiness.
Even if it’s not with him.
Because some love isn’t about staying.
Some love is about walking someone home and letting go at the door.

Summary
“Do you like me back?” Eijun asked point-blank. At Miyuki’s hesitation, he pressed on. “All you’ve said is ‘you can’t,’ which made zero sense by the way, and ‘it’s not a good idea.’ But you haven’t actually told me how you feel.’”
Miyuki didn’t meet Eijun’s eyes. “I don’t,” he said. “Sorry.”
A shot to the heart. One-hit KO. Sudden death. Eijun swallowed past the lump in his throat. He supposed he got his answer.
It’s only fitting that their love story starts with a rejected confession on New Years day. Turns out a lot can change in 365 days.
Or, Sawamura and Miyuki discover the difference a year can make
