Summary
Levi has had Dissociative Identity Disorder since he was a child, but he somehow grows out of it eventually in adulthood. His progress allows him to enter college instead of being homeschooled.
There, he meets Mr. Erwin Smith, the most admired and charming professor with many achievements in his life. Mr. Smith hires Levi as a student assistant, and Levi is determined to keep his job so he could have a recommendation letter in the future, written by none other than the respectable Mr. Smith himself.
His alter has different plans.

“And you are?” he asked, his voice on edge. Erwin sighed as he glanced at the cherry
numbers on the digital clock on the nightstand. Levi hadn’t even made it to ten. It was
worrying. Terrifying. Their lives, once intertwined so seamlessly, had started to diverge and
unravel, the slim tendrils of a failing memory forcing them apart.
With the patience of someone who has done this many times before, Erwin smiled quietly,
and cupped the side of Levi’s face in one broad palm.
“I’m Erwin Smith, and I’m your husband.”

Summary
With Pyxis, it had been easy for Erwin to tell the truth because it was just another uncomfortable choice in pursuit of his goal; putting himself into that position had been a means to an end of swaying Pyxis’ beliefs. He hadn’t feared Pyxis’ judgment, or else he didn’t particularly care what Pyxis thought about him. He could justify it by saying it was for his cause. For Humanity.
