Zoey spun toward Mira, her chest heaving, eyes blazing even through the tears. “Don’t you get it? We broke her! We tore apart the bond that tied our souls with her!"
Mira flinched under the intensity of Zoey’s gaze, guilt pooling in her stomach, "We thought we were protecting ourselves, Zo..."
Zoey's hands shook as she ran them though her hair. "P- protecting ourselves?" She huffed out a laugh, "Baby, look at her! Look at what we did! She's alone and it's because of us!"
A heavy silence fell. Zoey's voice dropped, raw and trembling. "I... I can't... I can't even feel her anymore, Mir. It's like something inside me... like a piece of me just- vanished. You can feel it too, I know you can."
Mira froze. “Zoey… I… I didn’t realise-” Her voice cracked, small and desperate.
She interrupted Mira, tears spilling freely, her words scrambling together in hiccups. "And I don’t know how to fix it because you two are always fighting each other and leaving me alone… and that emptiness just keeps getting bigger.”

Summary
Rumi is a prodigy PHD student who wants to study the biology of Pandora, a planet far from her dying planet. She hopes the planet has the key to solving the climate crisis. If she is diligent and careful, she might be able to accomplish it, as long as she doesn't interact with the natives. They don't know about humans yet.
Zoey (friendly name for Zokeri) is very familiar with humans. They destroyed her ancestral home and killed her tribe's chief. The remnants of her tribe all have to seek refuge with a section of the ash tribe on the far coast. Though they are accepted, cultural differences keep her world unstable and it doesn't help that she has a crush on the Chief's daughter.
Mira (friendly name for Mirkatkaina) hates her new home, its cold, its noisy, it smells like fish and she has to mix in with the sea Metkayina and deal with all their issues on top of her own clan's. Like the one main ash clan, her father is tempted to ally themselves with the starpeople, though that would cause an uproar. It would especially upset the traumatized cute girl she really wants to mate with.
Jinu the horse was bred for one thing. War. He can't have war though, so he chooses all other forms of chaos.

“Celine, are you here to pick up Rumi”? Mrs. Nari latched onto Celine, relief flooding through her face.
Every single parent in front of the daycare snapped their attention to Celine. Celine wished in that moment, for the first time in her life, that she could be a demon. She wanted to teleport inside, grab her Rumi and go.
“So you are are HER parent”? Mira’s mother snarled, her fist clamped tight over Mira’s tiny hand.
Zoey hid deeper into her mother’s skirt.
“Yes. I am here to pick up my daughter. Now where is she”?

Celine is trying her best to raise a half demon three year old, but Rumi behaves more like a full demon. That's fine for Celine since she's a demon hunter and is able to keep up with Rumi's antics, but a normal daycare? She doesn't think they can handle her. Too bad, she has no other choice and has to leave Rumi for a day. Unfortunately for her the daycare she chose also houses Mira Kotadoski, a wonderfully behaved girl from a mommy vlog channel and Zoey who is just a little angel. They aren't going to be able to handle Rumi or that kid "Baby" who Celine knows is a demon.

Summary
After her voice failed during the Golden Live Show practice, Rumi ran. What she didn't consider was Zoey and Mira following her. Them finding out she is a demon goes nothing like she thought it would.
Now, Rumi's patterns won't stop spreading, and she can't deny the connection she feels to the honmoon. She also can't deny how weak it seems to be getting. Gwi-ma probably knows they were about to seal the honmoon for good and has something planned. Something big that has every cell in Rumi's body vibrating.
If that wasn't enough, there's also this stupid fluttering in her stomach every time Zoey and Mira get close to her, which has been happening more and more since they saw her patterns.

Summary
Four hundred years before the modern day, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey are the second generation of hunters ever. Things escalate to a final battle where Rumi's patterns are forcibly revealed. This shatters the Honmoon as the others assume she's betrayed them. They are heartbroken, but Rumi lets out a final note, banishing Gwi-ma and freeing Mira and Zoey's souls before disappearing. Zoey and Mira disagree on what to do, leading them to have a falling out too, but their souls remain theirs.
Three months later, the land has split into two factions, one protected by a pale green Honmoon that Celine insists is the pure one, taking Zoey under her wing. Mira starts her own faction of warriors with a red Honmoon. There are lands between them where demons freely roam and an ever-shifting purple Honmoon is led by a cult demon warrior.

Rumi wandered. Her feet dragged. Blood oozed down her body and shredded clothes. It started to coagulate. She should clean it, bandage it, and lie down.

The wound slashed across her face and down her chest. It cut through patterns and skin alike. Mira didn't know the difference, not even if it's on her.
