The story behind what happened in the kitchen:
His Alexander, ever the morning person, was already awake and was probably at the Institute already. Magnus expected the loft to be quiet when he emerged from his room, since their guests were probably still resting.
Imagine his surprise when he heard voices. Magnus paused, eyes narrowing. He followed the scent of something buttery that drifted up from the kitchen and the low hum of voices.
And then he saw them.
Alexander’s rune-marked forearms crossed casually as he leaned against the counter, coffee in hand. Across from him stood Nicky, flipping pancakes with surprising ease, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. There were plates stacked with delicious looking pancakes beside him.
