Summary
Being thrown back in time one hundred and fifty years? Not the weirdest thing to happen to Tony. Going so far back he needs a message from future-Thor and the help of Asgard to try and get him back? Still weird, but really useful.
Only, despite meeting the never-before-heard-of talented and magical brother Loki, it doesn't look like he'll be getting back in a hurry. This wouldn't be a problem except, he not only has a life and a girlfriend back in the future, but he and Loki are getting along better than anyone he's ever met. They're connecting in ways that are dangerous.
And, if those weren't big enough problems, there is also the ever present worry: what if I can't get back home?

Summary
No team can beat Thanos by themselves - not even an awesome team like the Guardians of the Galaxy. With so many infinity Stones having been discovered or revealed on Earth, and one Infinity Gem still on Earth, it's the best place to make a last - probably doomed to failure - stand. The superhero teams already in place (Peter'll learn their names... someday) all seem pretty okay, even if they sometimes don't 'mesh' well with his own team. There's one person that meshes just right. Tony Stark is a mess, but so is everyone else Peter knows. Messes don't scare him, and maybe they can help each other during days when they just aren't 'fine'.
