Bdubs stopped sleeping once they separated their room. The cold left his fingers numb and his heart icy. Every beat of it felt impossibly slow and it was as though there was a frigidness in his blood he couldn’t get rid of. Bdubs was nothing if not a good actor, so he kept smiling and pretending and playing along. He played his role right to the end with an arrow lodged in his back; he hadn’t even felt the arrow, he just felt how his body gave up and collapsed beneath him.
