The scent was even thicker now that they had arrived at the chambers, so thick the room was drowning in it.
“This isn’t a beta’s scent” Gwen murmured as she opened the door. Gaius was nowhere to be scene nor was there any ill patients.
The king of Camelot strolled towards the private room in the back. It had been merlin’s room since the younger man had traveled to the castle and it was also the source of the smell.

Arthur opened the door without knocking and was met with an interesting sight. There was an omega in there but it wasn’t someone else warming Merlin’s bed.
“Merlin!” Gwen gasped as she joined her husband, he turned to see her eyes wide and mouth opened like an o at the sight in front on them.

He really didn't know what had come over him. The council was just being so damn annoying lately, pushing him to marry every eligible noble lady in the vicinity. Like any normal person, Arthur finally snapped. It all went downhill when he blurted out that Merlin was his husband in the middle of a council meeting. after a hunt gone wrong, arthur and merlin find themselves stranded in some of the more unfavorable parts of essetir. disguising arthur as a commoner, merlin and arthur have to lay low and find their way back to camelot without cenred knowing they’re in his kingdom.
only weeks after arthur stumbled upon merlin’s magic, things are tense between the two, despite the danger they’re in. arthur, struggling to align what he’s been taught about magic with who merlin is, can do the only thing he knows to do: close himself off.
though after a strange encounter he witnesses between merlin and the tavern owner that hides them from cenred’s men, arthur is unable to keep his questions to himself any longer. the answers he gets rewrite everything he has ever known about magic, and about those who live with it.
