Gen had never expected to be courted. It was a fairly old fashioned sort of thing, which is why it took him so long to realize that was what Senku was doing - and even longer for Senku to realize that was what Senku was doing.

He appears to be in his fifties, maybe - graying hair at the roots that fades to youthful black at the tips, like a photograph developing in reverse. His beard is unshaven, a patchy constellation of salt and pepper, but his eyes are impossibly young.
They gleam with mischief, intelligence, and something else - something old and knowing. He watches Gen with open amusement, like someone who just found an unexpected letter in a familiar book. “I didn’t expect you. I’ve been trying for Yuzuriha or Taiju since I can’t get to Senku.”"
