Summary
It’s a special kind of torture.
He can’t even say he’s sad, he can’t remember what being sad is like. Can’t remember any specific emotion, just the way his face used to pull, as he smiled and laughed until he cried, and the way that as soon as any of the happiness left he would fall so low again. When the upturned corners of his smile would tug down like weights, and he wouldn’t be able to stop the descent.
He can remember what it felt like, on his face, to hold that pained grimace and try to pretend it was a smile.

Summary
Because that’s what Wilbur was. A storyteller, the one who doesn’t get written in. The one who watches from the sidelines. The one without a legacy.
But a god with no legacy is a disgrace to all.
Or: Gods consider each other playthings as well as mortals.
Or, or: Wilbur's been having strange dreams of Late. Yearning for the stars, and dreams that wash his vision with crimson and the void. He needs to figure out what's going on, before it gets Tommy killed.

Summary
Wilbur woke from vicious dreams suddenly, for seemingly no reason, just that something was wrong. Looking around from where he had propped himself against the tree, and cursing himself slightly for falling asleep on watch (‘Techno wouldn’t have done that’, ‘Techno would have gotten through the entire watch’) he made his way over to Phil, to check on him.
Or: A Zombie Apocalypse AU that focuses more on loss and family then it does, y'know. Actual Zombies.

What Niki couldn’t understand, however, was that no-one else seemed to notice that anything was wrong. No-one else seemed to notice the dark bags, growing thicker and thicker as the nights wore on. No-one else seemed to notice the leaning, increasing as time went on, like his own weight was too hard to hold up. Maybe a few noticed that he never ate with them. Or in general. Niki was certain, because Wilbur looked like skin and bones.
He still had fire in his eyes though. Fire, burning bright and threatening to roar past what it was capable of, threatening to break the boundaries that had kept him safe so far. It had been Niki’s job, almost, thankless as it seemed to be, as Wilbur never seemed to want her to fix him up.
