“Neither of us is gonna get hurt,” Argo says, “I promise.”
“That’s not something you can promise,” Fitzroy responds, his voice soft, betraying how afraid he is.
“I know.” Argo’s voice mimics his own in its softness, though Fitzroy can’t tell if he’s being gentle or just trying not to wake the snoring Firbolg.
Or, Argo and the Firbolg have to leave Wiggenstaff's while Fitzroy is forbidden to do so, leaving him alone.

Famous musician Kravitz hasn't put out an album for a hot minute, so his agent decides to push him into a big publicity gambit he's not entirely sure about: pretending to be engaged to beloved but infamous celebrity chef Taako. Taako couldn't be more excited. It'll be a lot of fun to pretend to be in love, and surely nothing could possibly happen between the proposal and the wedding that might challenge them.

Summary
Taako had just wanted to spend a nice night at the ball. Sure, he wasn't supposed to be at the ball, but that didn't mean he couldn't have a nice night there anyway. He wasn't even planning on meeting the prince. He told himself he was going to play it safe, just mill about for a few hours, drink all the fancy drinks and eat the fancy hors d'oeuvre and maybe steal some of the expensive silverware, but that was it.
He didn't plan on an announcement going out to the world of his engagement to Prince Kravitz. Especially since they weren't, you know, actually engaged. Or even knew each other. All they could do was go along with the ruse until they thought of some way out of it.
Pretending to be engaged probably shouldn't be this much fun.
