Summary
“I tasted your blood before I tasted anything else from you”. Buck finally admits. Maybe it was the fact that he was still stuck in the traumatizing past, maybe it was the phantom touch of Eddie’s blood poisoning him, acting like a truth serum, or maybe, just maybe, it was the reality that Buck almost lost his best friend that made him say it.
Eddie forces out a shaky breath. “What else…is there to taste…?”or; Buck can’t get rid of the taste of Eddie’s blood after the shooting and needs to do something about it.

Summary
“It was almost you,” He finds himself saying, eyes still closed, mind caught on a frozen image. A still frame of Eddie’s eyes on him, a line of blood running between his eyes.
He hears Eddie’s surprised inhale and turns his head lazily, blinking at him. Watching the weight of the words sink into him.
Eddie frowns, shuffling to turn towards him fully. “What?”
The corners of Buck’s mouth rise, wry and bittersweet and trembling. “You were standing next to him,” he offers, voice cracking. “It was almost you.” He pauses, turns his gaze back to the ceiling and exhales slowly. “Again.”
Eddie goes still, body tensed and frozen, and Buck closes his eyes again.

Or, the call with the space debris triggers the memory of Eddie getting shot.

Summary
Buck’s hair is gray at the temples, buzzed neatly on the sides and a bit longer and curlier on top than Chris remembers him wearing it, and there’s a new scar through one of his eyebrows. He looks good, like he’s living a happy life, and the only possible reason Chris can imagine for Buck to be here at Helena Diaz’s funeral in El Paso is that Chris’s father brought him.
“Why would you come?” Chris snaps at him.
Buck blinks. “Why wouldn’t I come?”
“She didn’t mean anything to you.”
“I’m not here for her,” Buck scoffs. “She is dead. I’m here for him.”
or
Chris is forced to grapple with the choice he made eleven years ago when his father comes back for Helena’s funeral.

Summary
Eddie knew roughly what he had going on was larger than average, but he had never concerned himself with that. Never bragged about it, maybe blushed once or twice the first time someone new saw it and said something. But it didn’t mean anything, surely they all said that. It wasn’t like he had taken a tape measure to it or measured it up mentally to other guys in the locker room.
Just sometimes he made a mental note if he did catch a glimpse.
To put it plainly, Eddie never thought he’d have such a hang up on having a big dick or being with a partner who also had a big dick.
That was until the first time he got Buck on his back.

Summary
“You can't just punch someone when they make me uncomfortable Eds, you're going to get arrested again— oh my god what if that guy presses charges and—"
Eddie digs his feet into the ground and Buck stops talking immediately and lets go of his arm as Eddie finally looks at him again…
Yeah— still as beautiful as ever.
He's barely even listening, but he speaks anyways, "I'll always defend you Buck, he shouldn't have done that."
Or Buck dances on top of a bar and Eddie gets protective about it
