Summary
A small boy named Taehyung goes on holiday with his parents every summer, to the same flat near Busan's Gwangalli beach. One evening, he wanders a little too far away from his mother and gets lost. Another boy finds him crying, and helps him find his way home.
That small boy's name is Jimin.
Quickly, they become best friends. From dawn til dusk, every summer, Taehyung and Jimin are inseparable. But Jimin never stays for dinner or a sleepover, no matter how many times Taehyung asks. Jimin never invites Taehyung over to his house, either.
Taehyung wonders why Jimin wears the same outfit every day, and why his face and clothes are always a little dirty, but Jimin's explanation makes enough sense for him.Then, the summer Taehyung turns twelve, Jimin disappears.
Taehyung has a lot of questions.
Eventually, his parents convince him that Jimin was never real, that he was Taehyung's imaginary friend and they all just went along with it. They urge him to forget Jimin ever existed.
Taehyung isn't so sure.
Years later, he thinks he sees Jimin in Seoul. Only Jimin looks right through Taehyung as though he doesn't exist.
Will Taehyung ever find out the truth?
