By some miraculous twist of fate, Adam ends up surviving his game and waking up in the hospital. He doesn't quite feel lucky to have survived with how he was left destitute and changed forever, physically and mentally. The loneliness is almost the worst part but that wasn't anything new. With no real plan and no one to fall back on, Adam leaves the hospital appreciating life less than ever, when he comes face to face with the man that landed him in this position.

The absolute audacity of the doctor to just stroll back into his world is staggering, but just maybe it isn't the worst thing...
