Summary
Sebastian and Ciel have enjoyed being closer than typical master and servant as of late, but they both mistakenly think that the other resents the proximity at the hotel.

“Is there a problem?” asked Ciel.
Sebastian looked up at him. “Somewhat. I have a concern about our sleeping arrangements.”
“You seemed upset that we were roomed too closely.” Ciel remained aloof as he pulled his robe tighter around himself. The last thing he wanted was to show that the disdain at their proximity hurt him in any way.
“Hmm, I was surprised that the hotel would house all of their noble guests and servants in such a manner, but my concern is the opposite. Although it's only the other side of the wall, it makes me uneasy to leave you in here alone while we still don't know the details of this place.”
Ciel blinked as he processed what Sebastian was implying. For some reason, it made his chest feel warm. “You’d like to stay here instead?”
Sebastian nodded, not meeting Ciel’s eyes. “I can’t force you to be okay with the intrusion, but I think it’s the wisest option.”
How could he think that? “It isn’t an intrusion."

"Sebastian disse que vai se casar comigo um dia." anunciou Ciel, de apenas dez anos, com a inocência típica da idade, enquanto se acomodava no colo do pai.
"O quê?" exclamou o homem, arregalando os olhos, atônito.
Antes que qualquer explicação pudesse tomar forma, Sebastian se adiantou com um sorriso tenso.
"Ah, como as crianças têm a imaginação fértil..." murmurou com falsa leveza, estendendo um pedaço de chocolate a Ciel na tentativa de distraí-lo.
Funcionou. Os olhos do menino brilharam e, no instante seguinte, ele já estava absorto no sabor do doce, esquecendo completamente a conversa anterior.
Ou...
Desde que o viu pela primeira vez, Sebastian foi tomado por um sentimento profundo demais para ser explicado. Ciel, o mais novo dos Phantomhive, ainda era uma criança, mas para Sebastian, ele representava algo que um dia floresceria.
E esse era o problema.
Sabia que o que sentia não seria compreendido — pelo menos, não ainda. Mas ele esperaria. O tempo, a maturidade, a aceitação. Um dia, quando tudo fosse possível, cumpriria a promessa silenciosa feita naquele primeiro olhar:
Casar-se com Ciel. Num dia bonito, inesquecível e inevitável.
