Summary
it has been over five years since jason todd was tortured and killed by the joker, and his childhood friend can't seem to shake her grieving. after living in new york for a few years, she moves back to gotham to pursue her master's degree and navigate her complicated relationships with the city's favorite vigilantes. but who is this red hood guy? personally, i would like to know.
the actual fic is not all in lower caps, i swear. also, consider this not entirely canon compliant. lots of inspiration taken from different sources, lots of events moved around. i guess you can say the basic bones are there, especially with jason's origin story. but do consider this a fun lil gritty revision. dc likes do whatever they want, so i shall be doing the same. thank you.

Summary
Jason Todd's avoidance of romantic entanglements hasn't been anything melodramatic. He's busy , okay? And his job is dangerous. Who wants to deal with someone constantly getting injured, anyway? He just can't imagine someone slotting into his chaotic mess of a life, and that's not even mentioning the giant Y-incision autopsy scar he's sporting. Not exactly easy to explain.
But sometimes fate has other ideas; ideas like a gorgeous doctor who works at his Foundation, with keen eyes, a kind heart, and talented hands. Sometimes, someone just fits, even when Jason's siblings are insane, Jason ends up sporting a few cracked ribs from a rogue crowbar strike, and even when, as she's taken on the role of his doctor, his very unique splay of scars is on display - often.
Sometimes, even when we feel our ugliest parts are on display, someone finds us perfect all the same.
