His trembling fingers brush ever so slightly against pale skin as he retrieves the exceedingly precious rune embedded into the leather band from his open palm, reduced to a mess of wild emotions.
And it only gets worse once he realizes what his savior is holding tucked under his arm.
Jayce’s blood freezes in his veins at the sight.
