Probably the single most deeply impactful fic I've ever read for this fandom and definitely in the top 10 for me of all time. Masterfully plays with the narratives we tell ourselves and each other and what we can do against those narratives. A masterclass in character work for Mei but also unflinching in its depiction of Ramattra as a full character. Your honor I'm obsessed with this fic.

"Amy?" Sonic asks, hands going to her injured one. He brushes over the wound by accident. It lights her nerves on fire.
Amy pushes Sonic away without thinking about it. Her eyes widen in horror as she watches him fly dozens of yards back and then slam into a boulder.
"Did he... offend you?" Knuckles asks, not coming closer. Amy isn't sure if she appreciates it or not. This is all too familiar.
"I- My bracelets-" She looks back down at her hands in horror. When she looks back up to her friends, Shadow's red eyes are staring right to her very soul from twenty feet away.
