Summary
The first time Albedo opened his eyes, the woman greeting him was both familiar and unfamiliar to him at the same time.
Somehow, he knew she was his creator. And yet, with the basic knowledge bestowed upon him, he knew she had not birthed him as humans did.
‘Albedo.’ she spoke, and as foreign as that name sounded, Albedo knew by that name she meant him. He was “Albedo”, whatever Albedo may have been.
‘Master.’ he spoke, his first word to her.
Had he been anyone else, he might perhaps have called her “mother”.
Albedo wasn’t anyone else though, and so the word “master” came from his mouth just as she’d intended.
Master Rhinedottir. The one who’d given him life.
As a being born from chalk mere moments ago, Albedo knew he had a lot to learn.
