Summary
Danny had faced his parents. He had told them everything. He was happy when they accepted him, for three months his family lived in peace knowing Danny's other half.
Then in a cruel twist of fate, Danny's parents accidentally blew up the portal. It was off at the time.
His parents had only stepped out of the lab for a second.
Danny came back home to a raging fire.
That day Danny became an orphan. His friends tried to support him, but they split ways after Danny graduated at seventeen.
And Danny moved far away from his tragic past.

Summary
Danny just wanted to get through college without getting captured and vivisected by the GIW, hence him hiding in Gotham. Unlucky for Danny, his apartment is right underneath that of THE Red Hood, and the noise is wild. The poor halfa has heard it all from upstairs, fights, bottles breaking, gun shots, shouting, and all he wants to do is get to his physics class tomorrow morning on time and actually stay awake the whole time.
Now, he's never met his upstairs neighbor, but that does indeed change when a gang knocks down his door looking for his living noise complaint, and they're not happy when Danny doesn't have him.
