Summary
Sleep is a thing hard to come by. This isn't news for Spy, no, but what does become news is the fact that this is something Engie struggles with as well. Nightmares, insomnia, a haunting past: the whole package deal. It sets off alarms blaring in Spy's mind, bringing him to the realization of how little he knows about Engineer in the first place, so he sets out to do what any man worth his dignity would do: some good recon with the intention of figuring out the puzzle that Engie's turned out to be.
Spy is good at minding his own business: a professional at it, even, especially when he makes other's business his own.
(Or, the fic where Spy starts to visit Engie's workshop at night with three different excuses, all of them true, only one of them voiced: nightmares, curiosity and a search for connection. Surprisingly, he's not the only one those three words can apply to.)

Summary
Spy and Scout are sent on a mission together, and against all odds, things go fine: until they don't, and Spy wakes trapped by the very target they were sent to get rid of, with Scout presumably having escaped. Getting out becomes the hard part.

Summary
Aftermaths are never pretty; there's always some measure of tears, regret and sleepless nights involved. There's none of that here, but Dream's aftermath stands towering before him, a black colossus of a prison designed to break the worst sort of people within. Time is a ticking time bomb waiting to alter his mind until it's unrecognizable, but Dream refuses to be constrained to a black cell for the rest of his life. One way or another, he'll find his way out.
(Something of an exploration of the prison arc from Dream's perspective.)
