Summary
The usual what if. One alternative to Snape's story had he survived. It takes a lot of time and patience to recover from that sort of trauma and Snape's path certainly isn't easy. This is a story of Snape learning how to open up. This is also the story of a young woman looking for stability abroad, at Hogwarts. And once they start opening up to each other, the backlash of the Battle of Hogwarts unleashes upon them.
The story is mostly canon, except Snape surviving.
