“I’m leaving.” Merlin says, because this situation already cost him his Duolingo streak, and he’s too tired to deal with Arthur when the food Gaius is serving him looks like it belongs on a list of war crimes committed by the Canadian soldiers.
“Where to?” His mentor asks, and Merlin shrugs, before going to his room and packing his bag.
“India. Gaius, I have decided I don’t give a damn, especially not when having to eat that bland food. I’ll be back in three months, make sure Arthur doesn’t die when I’m out.”
“Merlin!” And maybe, if he was younger and didn’t travel back to the past last month, he would’ve actually cared about the ‘eyebrow of disapproval’.
Or, a 1500yo Merlin gets zapped to the past during his vacation to Cuba. You’d think he’s happy to see Arthur again. He’s not.

Merlin slumped into the room and fell onto the bench of the table across from Gaius, laying his head dramatically on a book of something or other Arthur didn’t bother to look too closely at.
“Cursed.” Gaius echoed, unimpressed.
“Cursed.” Merlin sighed back, like some kind of weepy maiden.
“He can’t lie,” Arthur supplied, walking further into the room and standing behind Merlin, pushing his head off the book roughly. Merlin squawked and glared at him before shaking his head and turning back to Gaius.

Summary
British weather strikes again!
After the wettest December on record, grumpypants-with-a-heart-of-gold Prince Arthur and his totally-not-gorgeous-or-attractive PA, Merlin, get stuck in a little village on the way to a Christmas charity event, with no transport and no accommodation except for a small, cosy inn.
With all the other people stranded by the same flooding, there's only one room free.
And it only has one bed…
Whilst they wait to be rescued, Arthur has a Christmas to remember as he discovers the important things in life, and Merlin finds out that his surly, irritable boss isn’t half as bad as he seems.
A story of flooding, service, snowball fights, and love.
