Flynn worried about his name more than was probably warranted. It wasn’t that he didn’t like it, quite the opposite actually, he’d picked it out after all. Rather, he worried that even for all that he liked it, that it wasn’t right. That when he met his soulmate—Eve Baird, as it said in a thick font on his wrist—it wouldn’t be the name on their body, and he’d have to confront the idea that maybe his father had been right, maybe his mothers tears had been for nothing.
Maybe he wasn’t meant to be Flynn Carsen.

Cassie had always been afraid of large animals. She was small, and even though she could fly she was a never a strong flier and the risk was too great. She'd been betrayed enough times, accidentally hurt even more, and so she kept her space from larger shifters. Whenever she shifted she was either alone or with another small shifter, and even then she preferred being human.

He doesn't mean it in a so I can come find you and drag you home where you belong way, more of a just curious way, but it comes out kind of wrong. And at any rate, there will always be some element of the former in Peter's interactions with Neal. It's just how things are.
