But kingdoms fell to dust and rebuilding them wasn’t easy. Especially since he wasn’t sure whether the crown prince was even alive or not.~

Cloud’s mission is a little less simple. Rewind time, infiltrate Shinra, retrieve Sephiroth while he’s still young and relatively defenseless, and unfuck whatever mess Hojo has made of his mind before it’s too late.
Cloud should have known that when it comes to Sephiroth, nothing ever goes according to plan.
