Summary
This is my translation of one of the short stories from the Ace Attorney Fanbook, which was an official publication. The original story is credited to Yuri Shibamura.
The story focuses on Miles Edgeworth hearing about Phoenix's accident in Bridge to the Turnabout (3-5), and also covers the infamous forbidden hospital scene. Somehow, this manages to be the most insane thing I've seen in anything considered official Ace Attorney content and I can't even really believe that this is real.
The fact that I felt uncomfortable tagging this as gen tells you all you need to know.

No reunion, no closure, and no long-term therapy situation, unless you count Tama (Ryuki does, Tama doesn't). Ryuki wants to go back to normal, but maybe they never really had a normal to begin with. Maybe he's been switching between alternate timelines. Maybe this is all a dream and he's still bleeding out on the field (Tama swears that's not it. Ryuki mostly believes her).
Also, Date maybe developed a weird obsession with his wrists? Not sure what that's about. Anyway...

Summary
Date smiled, satisfied and reached a hand out, palm-up, across the table. After staring for a few moments, Ryuki took a deep breath to try and calm his thoughts. Right, this isn’t anything crazy, he told himself, laying his hand over Date’s and trying to will the blush from his cheeks.
“Not so bad, right?” To avoid saying something embarrassing, Ryuki just shook his head. “See, if we just do stuff like this, we’ll get your tolerance up.”
Tolerance, Ryuki thought bitterly, Because I definitely just want to ‘tolerate’ holding hands with him.
Ryuki doesn't know how to handle reconnecting with a classmate and impulsively exaggerates his relationship with Date. Date does his best to help make the lie convincing!
