Summary
Peter’s blood froze. He turned to stare at the falling building. And, it was falling. Held up only by Wanda’s power and the efforts of a dozen legionnaires and Dr. Banner.
“Get a move on. We can’t hold this forever, Cap,” Mr. Stark’s voice cracked out, heard double through the surrounding air and Peter’s comm.
“You’ll go in where the team did,” the captain pointed. Through the red mist, Peter could only just see the opening, small and dark. It looked like the entrance to a tomb. He’d been in and out of unstable, awkward holes in crumbled buildings all day. It had been disturbing, but ultimately manageable.
This wasn’t.
This was terrifying.
This was going to kill him.
“Peter, you’re small and you’re stronger than any of us. It can only be you.” Visibly, Cap steeled himself to speak the truth they both knew. “I can’t order you. But if you go in, they have a chance. If you don’t, they’ll die.”
Or...
Peter makes his debut as a full Avenger a little early. Unfortunately, this mission is hell.

Summary
Sam closed his eyes and thought hard about what the team—his team—needed now.
His mother used to say that when times got tough, it was important to look to your roots. When you were overwhelmed, lost and didn’t know what to do or where to turn, that was the time to reconnect with your foundation. “If you’re not rooted in what you love, baby, you’ll lose sight of everything that’s important. Take care of your roots. That means taking care of the people in your life, especially the people you love.”
For Sam’s mom that had meant working hard to make sure people had what they needed, whether that was a hot meal or someone to help out or look in on them and make sure they were okay. She spread love and kindness everyday. Now, it was his sister, Sarah who followed in their mother’s footsteps…
And, that was when the brainwave hit.
...In which Sam takes care of his team like the damn great sergeant he is (was) and finds a creative way to build folks up when they're feeling down.

Summary
Over the following quarter of an hour, their plan took shape. And, it amounted to nothing more nor less than her showing her ability to meet or exceed the special skills of each individual member of the Howling Commandos. Someone else might have argued that their demand was unbelievable. It was certainly unreasonable. But, Peggy was all too able to believe.
“So I must show that I am, in myself, equal to the combined skills of all the men of Capt. Rogers’ team.” She raised an eyebrow and gestured expansively. “Well, and why not? After all, we know that women can do… well, everything better than than men.”
Peggy stood.
“Gentlemen,” she nodded perfunctorily, more dismissal than acknowledgement, and made herself stride confidently from the room even as, under it all, she seethed.
In which: Peggy proves she can do anything the men can do and that sometimes the rules are meant to be ignored.

Summary
Meeting Tony’s twinkling eyes, it felt like the time. Humorous but heated. Like all Peter needed to do was open his mouth and tell Tony that he needed him, needed him to take Peter in his arms and let them lose themselves. But, somehow—even though he had permission, an agreement, clear and mutual desire—his nerve failed him.
Tony drew Peter’s face into his neck and shushed him, an exhalation as much as a sound, “Tell me how to make it better.”
Peter screwed up all his courage, enough to find the words if not to say them to his mentor’s face. With his forehead and nose pressed to Tony’s warm skin, he freed his mouth just enough to gasp out:
“Fuck me. Please, please fuck me.”
... Or, Peter was on a mission-from-hell with Wade and can't figure out how to wind down. Tony and his tech swoop in to solve the problem in the best possible way.

Summary
They’re a perfect back-and-forth, push-and-pull. With every shout and curse, the poison drains out of Rhodey. Like a bleeding, the stab of the lancet and dark drops landing in the basin. The corruption leaks away, revealing that brilliant soul he knows so well. It calls to his own, tainted one offering hope and home and salvation that Tony knows he’ll never be brave enough to accept with grace.
Or... Rhodey has had a hellava day and Tony puts him back together.
