Summary
After years of careful planning and preparation, Astarion and Imara finally take control of the city of Skullport. Throughout the years, the moon prince would send her gifts she wouldn’t be able to procure on her own. Most were rare medicinal items from completed requests. Some, she received out of nowhere. And sometimes, he’d send her incense. Not too expensive though—she’d reproach him for that.
So when a wandering merchant told the moon prince of an incense called “To Be Closest to the One You Desire,” he immediately thought of her. The name sounded poetic. The merchant didn’t want money—only something of value to the moon prince. Skeptical, he obliged.
He sent the incense to the apothecary as a casual thank-you. And that’s when it started.
He began hearing her thoughts—the ones not meant to be said aloud.
Thoughts that left him reeling.
Confounded.
And maybe… wanting more.Or: the JinMao fic where Jinshi starts hearing Maomao’s internal monologues, and absolutely cannot handle it.
