Summary
Jon speaks the words of the Kingsguard kneeling in a sept of seven glass walls before seven southron gods that are not his own. Barristan Selmy touches his sword to either of Jon’s shoulders and Jon swears to serve a king he hates, to forsake lands and titles and to never sire sons or know a woman’s touch. “Stand vigil till morning,” Selmy tells him when it is done, and drapes a white cloak over his shoulders. “We will have need of you at the crowning of good King Joffrey and Queen Sansa.”
TLDR: AU where Jon goes to Kingslanding instead of the Wall, there’s no war, and he becomes a knight of the kingsguard even as Joffrey marries Sansa. As Joffrey’s true colors inevitably show Jon is forced to choose between southern chivalry and northern duty.

Even you have to admit that.” She could have sworn he leaned in closer with every word because suddenly she was too aware of how close they were standing. The scent of his cologne was clouding the air. Zoya rested her head against the door. “Are you going to keep talking the entire time?” she snapped in his direction, trying to ignore the growing tension. Why had she joined this stupid game? This time, he definitely slipped closer. “Well, I have some suggestions for other activities we can pass the time with.” She really was going to strangle him. “Keep this up, and only one of us is going to survive these seven minutes.”
