Summary
Illari didn’t see her crusade as vengeance.
Her path was one of redemption, justice, and a way to repent to her fallen brethren. The rest of the world however, did not see that.
Even after being invited to join overwatch, an honor she initially denied due to her own self doubt, she is still seen as a loose cannon carrying around guilt and looking for an outlet to express her rage. She just wants a chance to forgive herself.
However, perhaps that chance will have nothing to do with her fight, and even if she hates it, perhaps her own happiness is what she needs to move on.

“Why does that matter?” Kiriko is getting impatient. She has been trying so hard and yet, Illari still doesn’t see her.Truth is, Kiriko cannot exactly pinpoint the answer to Illari’s question either. At first, it just bothered her how Illari hadn’t even taken a chance to get to know the team, but mostly her. The more Illari tried to shut her out, the more Kiriko obsessed. It was like a never-ending push and pull.
