The moment Eddie put the truck in drive and drove away from South Bedford street, away from Buck, the anxiety started. He was going for Christopher, his son, his entire life, the reason why he woke up everyone morning and got out of bed. If he didn’t fix his relationship with Chris, he didn’t know what he was going to do. So he was leaving his entire life behind, more importantly, he was leaving Buck.

Summary
So many memories worth an entire lifetime, John thinks as he finally gets to those memoirs he’s been, no doubt, annoying Sherlock about. "Why not call it…Memoirs from a Good Doctor?" Sherlock teased him once as John agonized over even thinking about sharing his records of his adventures with his life companion.
After long retired from their mystery-solving days, Dr. Watson decides to publish the journals he’s been keeping that detail his life with Sherlock Holmes. He never wanted to do so in the first place; the memories were personal, and he would often revisit entries to only shock Sherlock, for example, with something he said over breakfast five years ago. Eventually, with some gentle coaxing from his publisher who was in cahoots with the man in question, John figured it was only fair that others were aware of the great person he had come to love so dearly.

Every once in a while, he’d glance at the shore. Then at the horizon. When the captain approached, he angled himself between the bookish little man and Thomas and Miranda, and Miranda stared at the line of his body beneath the dark, wide-skirted coat, and didn’t think of him laid out on the Hamilton bed, bright-eyed and bared wholly to them.
