Part 2 of the "In the Morn" series
Arc I:
Laena Velaryon and Aegon Targaryen are now allies, working to reshape the House of the Dragon and install Aegon as King. In Essos they begin to know each other and trust each other.
In Westeros, Aemond Targaryen is groomed to be ruler by his grandsire and Mother, his longing for Aegon a strange, uncertain thing.
And on Dragonstone Rhaenyra prepares for her Queenship, as Daemon plots.
Arc II:
Aegon and Aemond have met again, and inexorably drawn to each other, enter into a dance of passion, obsession, and deception. In the meantime, Laena keeps her eye on the Iron Throne, manuvering to make sure her chosen is the King. At Dragonstone, Jacareys Velaryon dreams of his Mother's peaceful rise, while Rhaenyra and Alicent move forward with plans to unite the two sides of their warring family.
The night is nigh, and the dawn is far away. What awaits the House of the Dragon?

Summary
Aemond Targaryen is an anesthesiologist, fully dedicated to his career and his…rather complicated family life. In fact, after his father’s death, the succession war between him and his sister Rhaenyra for the immense inheritance has been a bloodbath in court for years.
The situation aggravates when he meets his brother Aegon as a patient in the hospital, after twelve years of no-contact with Aemond or any member of the family.
Aegon has brought a lot of disgrace to their family name and Aemond has decided to forget him a long time ago.
Yet, Aegon proves to be the right person at the right time for Aemond and his problems.
But Aemond faces a lot of uncertainty: what if his brother hasn’t changed at all? What if Aegon’s dark past ruins everything he has built?

Viserys has found the best way to end the succession question, thanks to a not-so-open secret that Targaryens can manipulate their gender, just like their dragons.
Mostly Aegon/Jacaerys. Eventually Aemond/Luke and Helaena/Baela, slightly background for the first 20ish chapters. Implied polyships for the older gen to varying degrees.
