Dream exhaled. He was braced against the doorway, and even from several paces away Phil could see him shaking. “Why do you care?”
“I don’t,” Phil said, pulling himself upright again and refolding his wings behind him. “Let’s make that very, very clear: I do not care about you. But I do care about Techno, and he wanted me to make sure you’d still be here when he woke up. So — did you eat something today?”

Summary
Dream had never viewed his arrogance as a character flaw. Not when he'd been able to carve out an empire from his own skill alone. He'd practically made himself a god within the storm chasing community. Or- he had been, now he was little more than a passing memory.
In just a day, with one miscalculation, Dream's entire world had been turned on its axis. Now, he has to navigate his new body and the grief and guilt that came along with his mistakes. The reappearance of an old friend in his life is either the last straw towards a self destructive path to oblivion, or the final push needed to persevere.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

When Ranboo died something in Technoblade broke. His rage needed a target and, unfortunately, Dream was the closest one. This would turn out to be the wrong move when, a year later, he comes back from disappearing with Punz, an alive Ranboo and a god at his side, bringing armageddon with them.
Now all the members of the server must put their problems aside, because a strange portal has opened in the sky and only Dream can be the key to closing it. But how can they do that when the former big bad is so changed, that they can’t even talk to him? Is he the same person anymore?
