"The case," Nick said, "I know what it reminds you of…" He hesitated, pain flickering in his voice. "We should talk about it." Another pause. Then, more softly, "Please."
Natalie swallowed hard, tension gathering through her body again like wire being pulled taut. "I don't know if I can."

Summary
"If you stay, if you let this play out, you will be compromised," LaCroix pressed. "When the story breaks, what do you imagine will happen when the police start investigating you?"
Nick glanced away, trying to keep uncertainty from his voice. "I'll find a way to handle it."
LaCroix's tone dropped to a warning. "Nicholas, you are playing with fire."
This is an alternate ending for the show (instead of Last Knight) set shortly after the season 3 episode Ashes to Ashes. The investigation into the decapitated corpse at the Raven intensifies, drawing unwanted attention from the media and outside authorities. As Nick tries to quiet the case, the discovery of more bodies further complicates matters. Natalie works to conceal evidence that could link the cases to vampires while Nick's secrets start to take a toll on her. Haunted by false and fractured memories, Tracy becomes increasingly suspicious of her partner. As LaCroix prepares to move on, he urges Nick to do the same before the situation can spin out of control. With the consequences of his choices bearing down on him, can Nick hold onto his life in Toronto?

"Okay, I won't say no because the Missing Persons Unit has been completely overwhelmed. The more we can screen the legitimate reports from the..." Cohen paused as if searching for the right term, "more questionable ones, the better." She held up a finger as if in a warning. "But only another hour tops, then you're off. Recovering from everything that's happened is going to be a marathon, not a sprint."
Many people went missing during and in the wake of the asteroid scare. Set in season 2 shortly after A More Permanent Hell.

"It is good to see you again, General. Will you come tomorrow? It will be a slow night." The man had an earnest and eager tone in his voice, and his eyes were guileless in a way Lucius found disarming.
Lucius was quiet, but then gave a curt nod before throwing some coins on the table and heading out. He could kill the man tomorrow just as easily as today.
"Let go your mortal bonds, General." Easier said than done. As Lucius Divius Lucianus navigates the world as a young vampire, there are pieces of who he used to be that he doesn't leave behind.

"I’m sure you’ve sensed the mood at the station these past couple of days," Cohen began, still facing the exterior window. In their reflections, her eyes met his.

2. Gold. What if Nick had visited Tracy at the hospital a second time instead of going home?
3. Forget Me Not. What if LaCroix had arrived at the loft before Nick?
4. Retribution. What if LaCroix had interrupted Nick and Natalie at the loft?
5. Peculiar Optimism. What if Nick and Natalie's attempt at a cure started to work? -
