At that, Jon perked up. He considered it for a moment before saying, “Twenty-seven.”
Martin laughed, surprised. “That is such a specific number.”
“Ten is a specific number too,” Jon said, audible tiredness making way for a matter-of-fact tone. “Fundamentally, there is nothing that makes ten less precise than twenty-seven.”
“Fine, fine.” Jon could practically hear Martin roll his eyes. “Twenty-seven kisses if you let us get out of bed now.”

“Idiot,” said Martin. He seemed upset, but his touch was gentle when he cupped Jon’s cheek. “Can you tell me where it hurts?”
Jon considered lying, but Martin already knew he was unwell, and Jon had just fallen down the stairs and lost consciousness for a still undetermined period of time, so there was no way he could make that sound believable. “My leg,” he said softly. “And my head.” He also felt the throbbing pain in his arms and elbows as well as somewhere around his ribs, but those were minor concerns compared to the blinding agony in his hip and leg and the splitting headache.
Or: When ignoring the needs of his bad leg, Jon falls down the stairs. Martin drills some sense into him. It's all rather soft.

Summary
After Jon rescues Martin from the Lonely, the two of them flee to Daisy's (surprisingly quaint) safehouse in the Scottish highlands. It's a paradise compared to the hell they've had to deal with for the past few years.
It's not perfect though Jonah Magnus is still out there as are the Hunters and the Not-Them. Daisy is probably lost to the Hunt, Martin is still haunted by the Lonely, and Jon still needs statements to live. And no matter what else happens they'll be forced to return to the institute sooner or later anyway.
But for the moment they've earned themselves a little peace.
