Hawkeye used to be in a team but things didn't go all that well. When Fury had proposed the Avengers initiative to Clint unsurprisingly he said no, while his partner and best Friend Natasha Romanov AKA the Black widow begrudgingly agreed partly thinking it would never pass or be successful in anything, it was just a ticking time bomb."
