Summary
Naruto had plans—pined in red string in his mind, connecting each path he'd ever wanted to take and could with ease or difficulties. He'd looked through them many times, taking a few down and shelving them to collect dust, or adding more to them.
Simply, Naruto could never see himself as a kage when there's only loss present in his veins. He took the responsibility of leading for his people, so that they would return home as one and it's one thing he dreams most of—he dreams of home and feels the yearning of the seals.
After the end, Naruto finds Uzushiogakure, his clan's home. In the Uzumaki sealed chambers, he lies and hopes as his eyes close that this is it—but it never is that easy when it comes to him.
(Or, a time-travel fix-it because I decided it's time for a feel-good era which has good endings.)

Summary
Jokul Iverson Fielsson, Jackson Overland, Jack Frost. One dead name, one dead teen, one dead winter spirit.
Lives that hold loneliness like a symphony, intertwined through short lives and long deaths.
Jack Frost woke up alone, held up gently by the Wind and only told of his name by the moon. Growing lonely with two names he knew dearly yet could not picture a face to and lived three hundred years before gaining a believer but not alone.
He grew to accept his life as a spirit and with the duties that came from being part of the Seasonal Courts. Even with the bitterness that made a place in his heart at the fact he would never fully remember his past. Never know who he was and who he grew to be, who he could have been.
But, well, the universe has plans and sometimes Fate follows what is asked of it. So, time collided and the universe lit a fire within him. Jack felt warmth, Jack was alive.

Summary
The thing about loss is that there are two kinds of it. In one, a person loses a part of them. The second, a more dangerous one, is when the loss shatters the person. These two can happen separately, years apart and still have the same effect.
Miles learns when they happen together, so close to one another, it leaves him a shattered person who has to pick up the pieces himself.
(or, Miles loses his Uncle and Dad, and canon decidedly gets chaotically corrected.)
