Absolutely hunting for Germany Is Holy Rome fics outside of the tag. And yes, I agree. They are separate people, even if they share the same body. But I do like some of the fics where he embraces both sides of himself.

Though he tries to move on, he can’t forget. Germany reminds him too much of him—his voice, his eyes, his seriousness—and that drags him back to the past. Sometimes he wants to believe he could’ve done something differently, that if he’d been braver and agreed to unite, maybe he would’ve stayed a bit longer. But he fears that would’ve made the loss even more unbearable. He lives with the feeling that his presence still lingers—in the sheets, in the air, in the morning chill. He can no longer tell what was real and what will never be. Guilt, grief, and doubt consume him, keeping him from living in peace. Everything inside him trembles when he remembers, and the past won’t let go—it haunts him like a silent shadow, leaving his soul trapped in the moment he left.
