Summary
In an alternate world, PVP evolved into robotic fights, "bot fighting" as the community calls it. Bot fighters are celebrities, with massive followings and high expectations. Mumbo Jumbo works for the bot fighting league ConVex as one of their top-billing bot fighters. But when Scar, the CEO, gets the idea to hire a partner for Mumbo, he is entirely against the idea. Entire Grian, a rookie bot fighter with a habit of pushing Mumbo's buttons. The pair despise each other from the moment they're put together. Can they overcome their differences to succeed in the bot fighting world? Or will their careers be over before they even started?

“This is my life now,” Grian declares dramatically, having collapsed facedown on the wooden bench at a small resting spot. It’s pretty scenery, not that he’s bothering to admire it. “I have climbed upon this hill and now I shall die upon it. You may see my corpse at dawn, boys.”
“We’re barely halfway,” Mumbo points out, looking away towards the steadily-steeper trail they have to climb in order to get to the top. “Oh, Scar, we’re only halfway there!”
Scar’s laugh is slightly breathless. “We’ve only been hiking for thirty minutes, come on, be a good sport!”
Or: Scar tries to have the romantic mountaintop proposal of his dreams. Of course, since when has anything ever gone right for Scar Goodtimes?
