The Lost Isles were a safe haven for all those with nowhere else to go. Outlaws and fugitives and outcasts.
And that was where Sophie Foster called home.

After a horrific dragon riding accident, Sophie Foster can say that she's adjusted pretty well, for the most part. While dragon riding was her passion, Sophie's found other options in the form of an apprenticeship. She's doing okay, even if she's distanced herself from all her friends and family.
Then comes a boy. On a boat. Injured and on the brink of death.
Bad things are happening just beyond the lost isles, and it may be too late to save the dragons, but Sophie's got to try, or else.
Armed with nothing but herself, her friends, the mysterious boy she saved, and the dragons she knows as family, it's up to Sophie to save everything she's come to call home, or watch it burn to the ground.
