Summary
The dead are walking, but the truth is they have always been there except they are smarter, more suave, and stronger than walkers. Vampires roam the earth, too.
While kneeling in Terminus on the precipice of death, a vampiric group with a serious savior complex rush in and seems to either save the day or be keeping them as a future snack. Daryl and his group are honestly not sure which. The longer the two groups interact, the more supernatural and stranger their days become. Amazed by this new type of walking dead, Daryl watches one of them a little more closely than the others; The quiet vampire with a gently polite aura and a penchant for flicking his tongue over his fangs.
Then Daryl ends up turning and learning to navigate his new life as a vampire, while simultaneously struggling with an unexpected blood bond. He thought he would die alone - and hell he did - but death brings him romance. Death turns him into an animal in some ways, but the rutting makes it worthwhile.
And hell, how the fuck did Merle end up a vampire too?
Minor Merle/OCM. Hinted Abraham/OCF and Tara/OCF too, but mainly focused on Daryl/OCM.
