Itachi had been alone for a very, very long time. He knew why; whose blade and kunai had taken away his clan. He may regret that it had to happen, but he had made the choice. He had always been more loyal to Sasuke, even if that didn’t mean kindness. Now, everything is ending for him. His brother has not shown up to fight him before his illness claims him. For some reason, he doesn’t seem to be in hell yet, though…
Beorn had lost his clan, his people, long ago, despite his best to prevent their end. Now, all that is left for him is to guard the homeland of his peoples and hunt the orcs that killed them all, building and keeping his own life and home. Yet, the spirits seem to have other plans; when he follows the scent of a bleeding human, he finds what seems to be a dying skin-changer, who can change his shape, despite seeming more elven than human.

Summary
The Golden Guard had always had everything he wanted. He had his uncle, his books, and his staff, and that (in that order) was all he needed.
Or… well, so he thought.
He had always assumed his duty to the Emperor would come first, before everything else.
But…. He knows what happens to traitors. Can he really do that to another living being? Let alone the few who- wether they knew it or not- were the only ones besides the Emperor to actually give kindness beyond what they may receive back?

“Arthur? Gwaine? What are you doing here?” Merlin sounded perplexed, as if he couldn’t quite fathom how they had managed to walk out of the castle on their own.
For several seconds, Arthur was distracted by the bloody entrails Merlin and Lancelot had been waving around like bait. The innards--which now hung limply in their grasps--might have been enough to turn a weaker man’s stomach, but they only gave Arthur a moment’s pause because then it hit him how mortifying this whole situation was. Was he really going to ask Merlin if he preferred Arthur over Gwaine?
Apparently Gwaine didn’t have any such qualms. “We were just wondering which of us is your favourite.”
Merlin stared blankly, a sight that was especially absurd given the blood coating his arms all the way to his rolled-up sleeves. “I'm sorry?”

More specifically: Arthur is sent on a quest with the powerful warlock Emrys and strikes up an unwilling friendship. It feels like betrayal, when Emrys was the one who killed Merlin all those years ago.

Merlin's magic flared up inside him, and the metal sizzled hot. “What are they doing, branding us?”
Morgana wasn’t wearing a collar, but her handcuffs glowed orange a few seconds after Merlin’s cooled, and her jaw clenched against the torment. Still, she kept her eyes on him. Vigilant.
“They’re magic siphoning cuffs,” she said when it was over. Her lip quivered as though she was suffering a kind of aftershock, but then her composure returned. She lifted a brow, shooting him a sinister look. “I see they’ve done a number on you, Emrys."
Merlin’s stomach dropped. Morgana knew.

A different direction for episode 4.7 "The Secret Sharer". Alator goes to Camelot not to find Emrys for Morgana, but with another plan in mind...
